DAMAGE BY SPOIL?

TIPPING AT TAITA GORGE Concern was expressed by members of the Hutt River Board on Thursday at the amount of spoil which was entering the river from the Taita Gorge felips. The chairman, t)r. B. J. Dudley, said he had visited the locality some time ago with the board's engineer, Mr. H. Siadden, and it was not then considered that any damage was being done by the" tipping of the spoil into the river by the Public Works Department.
