COMING-OF-AGE PARTY

Recently Major and Mrs. A. E. Calcott entertained about 40 young people in the Young People's Hall of the Salvation Army, the occasion being the coming-of-age of their daughter Elsie. The evening passed merrily with games and competitions. Mr. E. Tong, of Wellington, rendered a solo and Mr. A. Stein, of "typper Hutt, acted as M.C. The decorations were carried out in pink and blue. Miss Calcott.wore a pink frock with blue sash, and flowers at the neckline and a blue ; floral head-band. During the evening the birthday key was passed around and autoI graphed by the guests. Speeches were made, suitably replying. A dainty supper was served. The birthday cake was made and decorated by Mrs. G. Calcoft, of | Dannevirke. The gathering terminated by singing "For she's a jolly good fellow" and "ifuld Lang Syne."
