LOWER HUTT METHODIST GUILD.

The president, Mrs. Iving, presided over a large attendance at the monthly meeting of the Guild. Mrs. Peat led the devotions after which the president welcomed all visitors and members. 'Members of the Taita Institute were the guests for the afternoon and after tea had been served by the hostesses Mesdames Stonehouse and Hughes, tlr leader of arts and l crafts section, Mrs Morris, gave a very interesting demonstration on making cake baskets from pine cones, also a string shopping and toys. "Mrs. Rothery accompanied by Mrs. Taylor contributed two items which were very much appreciated. Mrs. Hull passed a vote of thanks to the ladies for coming and giving t!ie guild ladies one of the most enjoyable afternoons they have had. The bring-and-buy stall with Mrs. Leasdill and Hall in charge did a b:isk business. "Irs. Peat closed the meeting with prayers.
