HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY
A trophy has again be donated by Sir Alexander Roberts to be awarded to the "Best Kept Cottage Garden" in the Moera Settlement. Entries close on Ist February and the judging will take place before the February Show. There is no entrance fee and this year there should be some keen competition as the residents have now had time to get their gardens in working' order. The schedule is in the printer's hands and will reach members in a few weeks 1 time. There are still a few outstanding subscriptions for last .year which have been overlooked. The adult class of instruction # for dahlias and asters has been well filled, but more names are required in the j juvenile class. i The Spring Show will be opened by Sir Heaton Rhodes. The Society has a number of handsome trophies which would make an interesting exhibit if they were collected and placed on view at the Shows.
