FATAL ANTHRAX IN HUMAN BEINGS.
Some extraordinary statements (says the London Times) as to the ravages of anthrax and the attitudo of the Board of Agriculture in relation thereto were made at a meeting of the Leicestershire County Conncil. The disease broke out on the farm of a Mr Warren at Aruetby, and not only tho cattle, but human beings and all kinds of animals were attacked. The farmer and 10 men were all ill at one time, one man dying at the .Leicester lufirmary. A woman in passing the plague-stricken spot was stung by a tiy and died from anthrax. Cats, dogs, and birds in tho neighborhood also died. Sir Archdale Palmer stated that, in view of tho seriousness and importance of the matter, the county council had written asking tho Board of Agriculture to send down an inspector to make an inquiry and report, but the Bosrd had replied that it had no professional officer to send down. A resolution was passed expressing regret that the Board of Agricultuio had not seen fit to comply with tho requoss of tho council.
