CENTENNIAL SPRING FAIR

The Centennial Spring Fair opened this afternon in the Salvation Army Ilallj, when despite the inclement weather, there was a good attendance of the public. The opening ceremony was performed by the Kev. J. Dennis, who expressed his pleasure at being invited to be present. He complimented those responsible for the fine display of goods and wished them a very successful fair. Associated with the official opening was a short musical programme to which the contributors were:—Mesdames L. Spencer (pianofore solos), W. Nye (recitations) and Miss E. Toms (elocutionary items). The stallholders were as follows:— 'Fancy stall: Members of the W.C.T.U.; fancy work: Mrs. Francis and helpers; sweet stall: Mrs. Saint and Miss E. Toms; ice creams. Miss La Eoche; tea rooms: Mrs. Henski and helpers; jumble stall: Mesdames A. Mitchell and J. Alepham; toy animal stall: Captain Bundle.
