POLICE COMPLIMENTED ON IDENTIFICATION WORK.
OPEN VERDICT REGARDING WOMAN’S DEATH BY DROWNING. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The inquest concluded to-day concerning the death of Miss Clare BjithIceu Moore, aged about 50, of Dunedin, 'whose body was found on the beach at Karaka Bay on July 2ißth. The Coroner said there was no doubt that Miss Moore was worried when she returned to Wellington from Auckland. There was no evidence to show how she came to be in the water, and he would have to return an open verdict. The Coroner complimented the •police on their work in establishing the identify of the hody. They had had a .very difficult task, and he expressed appreciation of the way in which identity had been established. Miss Moore belonged, to Dunedin and had been spending a holiday at Auckland. She was on her way back to Dunedin at the time of her. death.
