VICTIMS OF FIERY SANDS.

FATE OF TWO AUSTRALIAN PROSPECTORS IN EGYPT. REVOLVER IN FLESHLESS HAND (By Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copyright.) (Received This Day, 10.55 a.m.) CAIRO, Sept. 5. Described as an Australian miner of Scottish origin who came to Egypt during the War, a prospector named Duffield was found buried in the sand, with a companion, an Englishman named Hess, at a deserted old gold mine 30 miles north of Kosseir, on the west shore of the Red Sea. Duflield is believed to have died naturally, while Hess had a revolver clasped in his bony hand. Under lease from the Egyptian Government, the pair began to prospect in the Attallah desert in 1927. They were the only white men in 500 miles of desolate country.
