The car involved in the fatal accident to Mr H. Griggs and his grandson at Awahuri on Thursday was completely wrecked, being damaged to an astonishing extent. All this is piled in confusion in the interior of the vehicle, which is a mass of wreckage. From the bonnet all the top section of the car has been sheared clean off and parts of the windscreen supports have been hurled into the back of the vehicle* Seats; are smashed,-flooring boards torn up and every door has been smashed off. The radiator bonnet and sides of .the car bear tangible evidence of impact * with the road, and it is stated that after over-turning the ear slid along the road on its side for a considerable distance.
