Council Takes a Page

in Brochure

When recommending that the council take a page at a cost of £l5, in the proposed East Coast Publicity brochure, the Reserves Committee of the Hastings Borough Council reported last evening that Mr. C. B. Petersen had waited on the committee and explained the purposes of the brochure, which was to advertise the East Coast district, and to endeavour to divert tourist traffic from Rotorua through the East Coast district instead of as at present, the ti;.£fic going from Rotorua to the Chateau. It was intended to distribute 20,000 copies of the brochure to shipping companies and agents, leading hotels, automobile associations, motor camps, etc. Approximately 100 photographs of the East Coast district would be included in the brochure.

The whole control of the publication, it was pointed put. was in the hands of the Chambers of Commerce in the various towns in the East Coast district.
