MOTORISTS’ CAMP
To Be Reopened Before Spring Show
PARK IMPROVEMENTS
The motorists’ camp at Windsor Park, Hastings, which was offici: Ty closed for the first time for the w ter months, is to be reopened again ou October 19, according to the decision of the Hastings Borough Council last night. The position of camp warden is to be offered to Mr 11. 8. B. Ribbands, who has been in control since the camp was inaugurated. Additional camp sites are being provided near the Belwood road entranee. The levelling of the ground in this area is being dote at present by relief men, who are also removing the tree stumps along the north-eastern boundary.. A letter was received from the Automobile Association (Hawke’s Bay) suggesting that a telephone be installed at Windsor Park, as it was considered that this would prove of great service to motor campers and sports bo,lies nsing tho park.
On the recommendation of tho reserves committee the -matter was refer red to Crs. A. I. Rainbow and T. Falconer to confer with the association and also with the Post and Telegraph Department. The council decided also that when tho stone-workers have completed the work they are at present engaged upon at Windsor Park the formation of a rock garden ahould bo undertaken.
