Retirement After 40 Years ißy lelegrauh—Press Association.. AUCKLAND, April 24. The principle of the retirement of officers on the completion of 40 years service was endorsed by a largely attended meeting of the Post and Telegraph Employees’ Association last night, and it was decided to urge the Government to adopt the policy. Speakers emphasised that promotion in the department is naturally slow and is further retarded b ytbe retention of officers who have completed 40 years. A resolution was carried congratulating the Government on the decision to restore all salary and wages cuts to members of the service.
