HOUSE DESTROYED

(Dv Telegin Press Association • PAHIATUA, April 24. At midnight last night fire destroyed the house, at Konini, of Mr. R. J. Smith, the newly-elected president of tho New Zealand Rugby Union. Mrs. Smith and her family were absent at a local football dance, and when they returned the house had been reduced to ashes. Tho policy, with the State office, covers the house and effects. It is believed that nothing was saved.
