COMING EVENTS
Members of the Country Club, Have lock North, are notified elsewhere in this issue that the club is closed to them on Friday next, April 24, on account of a private party being held on that date. On April 30 the first annual show of the Clive and Haumoana Chrysanthemum Club will be held in the Haumoana Hall. A record of entries is warranted, as there are some beautiful cups to. compete for. The local growers have attained marvellous results this year with their blooms. One competitor says he has never had such wonderful chrysanthemums. To-morrow (Friday) there will be a very good concert at St. Matthews’s Halj in aid of Hastings Scout funds. It is the idea to start raising funds for a headquarters, and Mrs A. B. 'Macdonald is giving this concert to start things roiling. A grand Catholic ball will be held in the Clive Public Hall on Tuesday, May 12. This was advertised in error in our Saturday edition as a grand public ball. At the Requiem Mass which will bo held at the Sacred Heart Church, Hastings, on Anzac Day at 9 a.m. an address will lie delivered by the Rev. Father McDonald, chaplain to the N.Z.M.R.
