ANZAC STAMP
Helping Men in Need ISSUE ON MONDAY NEXT A special Anzac stamp to commemorate the 21st anniversary of the New Zealanders’ landing on Gallipoli, and to be sold for the purpose of assisting returned soldiers in necessitous circumstances, will be on sale at all post offices from Monday next, April 27, to June 20. The Anzal stamp is being produced in two denominations, Id. plus id, and Id plus Id, and the extra amount will be transferred to the New Zealand Keturned Soldiers’ Association, In a circular letter sent to business firms the Hon. W. Perry, president of the New Zealand R.S.A., solicits the support of all citizens of the Dominion in connection with what the association refers to as “the Stamp of Remembrance’’ and all it stands for to our nation and Empire. Mr Perry suggests that as the period of issue will cover two business month-ends, business firms might use the half-penny stamp for sending out monthly statements.
