FAT SHEEP VALUES
Smaller Waipukurau Entry
QUALITY LINES SELL WELL Fat sheep were in only moderate supply at yesterday’s sale.at Waipukurau, but the quality of the entry showed a distinct improvement, there being several good pens of wethers and lambs offered. Ewes were low and of light finish generally. Demand was well maintained, and prices realised showed no weakening in values, good sheep meeting with steady competition, selling firmly. A selection of the entries and prices paid is as follows;— A line of 58 ewes, fairly grown and finished, made 14/1. A similar pen of 56 ewes realised 14/-. Forty-six whiteface lambs, medium framed and light, passed at 16/6. A single prime wether met the market at 20/6. A pen of 43 blackface lambs, quite well grown and finished, made 18/-. Fifty wethers, an even line of well grown sheep, prime, sold at 20/8. Five more wethers, in similar order, made 20/6. Three medium framed and finished blackface lambs made 17/6. Forty blackface lambs, fairlv well grown and finished, realised 18/5. A good line of 84 whiteface lambs, well grown and finished, met the market at 19/2.
