WORK APPRECIATED
A. &P. Society Officer* PRESIDENT AND TREASURER Appreciation of the much-appreciated services given in the past by the president of the Hawfee’s' Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society, Mr Mr J. H. Macniven, was placed on record at the aunual general meeting of tho society held in Napier this morning. The acting-chairman, the Hon. IL A. Russell, expressed the view that there was no-one more fitted to oct as president of the society, especially during tho Royal Show year. He had worked wholeheartedly in tho society's inintercsts, despite his handicap of bad health.
“I am sure that we are all very pleased that he is going to see this show through,” concluded Mr Russell. “He has undoubtedly done a tremendous amount of work for this society.”
Mr G. Kelly’s services as treasurer were referred to by the acting-chair-man. He mentioned that Mr Kelly had held this office since 1917 and his services had been much appreciated.
