CHAMPIONSHIP TROTS
Australian-N.Z. Carnivals THREE-DAY MEETINGS By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copy right SYDNEY, June 19. The Australian and New Zealand Trotting Associations decided to arrange an annual carnival of at least three days’ racing, it to be known as the Australasian and International Championship, and will be held alternately in New Zealand and Australia. The New Zealand delegates attending the conference were Messrs 11. F. Nicoli and B. McCarthy.
The first championship meeting will be held in Western Australia this year. Next year’s carnival was to have been allotted to New Zealand, whose dele gates, however, agreed to give way to South Australia as the Centenary of that State will be celebrated in 193<>. A meeting will be held in New Zealand in 1937. The Western Australian Asso ciation was instrumental in calling the conference.
The conference decided on uniform methods for registering horses, issuing clearance certificates and handicapping, the last-named being on the 12-yards basis.
The question of reciprocity in lifting disqualifications was discussed at length, and it is understood agreement was reached under which associations undertake to reopen cases on the recommendation of any other association.
