Prisoner in Stolen Car
SHORT-LIVED FREEDOM
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) HAMILTON, Juno 20.
(tyril Christian Hayes, aged 19, escaped from custody in the Hamilton police cells late yesterday afternoon, but his freedom was short-lived. A motor-car was removed from Hamilton in the evening, and the prisoner was recaptured at Taumarunui early this ffiorning with the missing qar in his possession. Hayes appeared in the Court here on Monday, being charged with another youth with stealing goods and clothing, and was remanded till next Monday. The police elated that further charges were pending.
