Death Sentence to Stand

ARGYLL EAST MURDER

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 20,

The Executive Council, the Gov-ernor-General presiding, decided not to interfere with the death sentence passed on Charles William Price for the murder of Evelyn Mary Madden at Argyll East in February.

After a trial at Napier lasting over a -week. Price was sentenced, to death by Mr Justice Blair. No recommendation accompanied the jury’s verdict of guilty.
