EWES GO TO 35/-

Keen Store Sheep Sale

QUALITY LINES PENNED With a moderate entry of high quality generally, interest in the store sheep section was focussed on several ewe drafts on otter from the Waipoapoa and Te Apiti Stations and Air E. il. Beamish. These sheep met with a particularly good demand, and the prices realised showed a pronounced rise in values, some pens selling at rates which have not been touched for some time past, up to 35/- being obtained. As will be seen from the appended list of entries and prices paid, five year ewes made up to 28/- and fourtooth ewes from 29/- to 35/- and this indicates the strong tone of the market. The few lines of hoggets on offer sold steadily at late rates. A selection of the entries and prices paid, from which an idea of the state of the market may be obtained, is as follows: — A line of 157 five and six-year-old ewes, run with Southdown rams from February 23 to Al ay 8, offered on account of Mr E. H. Beamish, Kohatunui, well framed, in good order, soundly mouthed and • well woolled, realised 21/-. A Alaraetotara entry of 122 five-year-old ewes, on account of Air G.
