Restoration of Wage Cuts HOSPITAL BOARD’S MOTION From Our Own Correspondent WAIPUKURAU, March 13. The W hipawa Hospital Board to day considered the question of the restoiution of wage cuts, the board taking the discussion in committee. On resuming in open meeting the board adopted the following solution: That the Depaitment of Health be communicated witn immediately asking if it is prepared to give a lead to this and other hospit n boards, as to nny restorations of salary cuts. Practical appreciation of the treatment and attention afforded a patient during her sojourn in the Wuipukuinu Public Hospital was evidenced at today’s meeting of the Waipawa Hospital Board, when a bequest of £5 was received from the District Public Trustee on behalf of the late ilrs E. A. J. Elliott, of Waipukurau. The deceased lady underwent treatment at the hospital shortly before her death, and as an appreciation of the kindness and con sideration extended to her, expressed tho wish that a donation be provided for in her will for the hospital authorities. Mr Rathbone, chairman of the board, expressed appreciation of tne gift. TENDERS ACCEPTED. The Waipawa Hospital Board has accepted tho tender of Messrs John Winlove and Sons, for external painting work at the Pukeora Sanatorium, which work will be put in hand at tho earliest opportunity. Tho board has also accepted tho tender of Mr W. J. Prujenn, the existing contractor, for the year commencing April 1 next, for the sana torium transport service, two trips daily at times to be arranged and suitable to both parties. WATER RETICULATION. During the month, the average ®sl> mated amount of water pumped per day at the Pukeora Sanatorium was 28,001* gallons. Of this approximately 590“ gallons were supplied to the sanatorium farm. HOSPITAL ST AIT CHANGES. Staff-Nurse Matthews has return'..'] to duty at the Waipukurau Hospital after days off, following sick leave. Staff-Nurse McKay is at present in extended sick leave. Nurse Florance is at present on sick leave and annual holidays. Sister Wagner and Nurse Anderson

have returned from annual leave. Nurse .Murray is at present on annual leave, and Sister Cairns commence'* leave on the 9th inst. Sister Black has commenced her post graduate course at Wellington, amt Sister Wagner has taken up the revised ; duties of deputy-matron. Sister McLean having taken over charge of the women's wards. DONATION To FUND. A gift of £1 towards the Nurses' Recreation Fund has been received from the sergeants’ moss, Ist Wellington Regiment, which was in Waipukurau during the recent infantry bi ig.-.m-camp at the race -ourse. Miss 11. M. Turnbull. Miss Turnbull in her repott to the board members stated: I desnv to thank the military authorities lor band concerts given at the hospit.l during the month. These were veiy much appreciated by all.
