NO RIVER POLLUTION
Old Ngaruroro at Havelock
That the Havelock North Town Board’s septic tank in the old Ngaruroro river just below the Havelock North bridge is not polluting ’the water in the stream, as has been said by certain people and local bodies in the district, was a statement made by the clerk to the board, Mr W. H. Anderson, at last evening’s meeting.
Mr Anderson said that Dr. McLean, health inspector, and the board’s sanitary inspector, Mr D. Toll, had inspected the river and had taken tests. Although the official report was not to hand, the results of the 'tests had been received and these showed that the septic tank was not polluting the river, as people had said. Tho water was as pure below the septic tank as it was at Pakipaki.
