Surfacing Work Schedule

In a report to the Hastings Borough Council Just evening tin, borough engineer, Mr C. IC. Evans, presented a schedule of surfacing work in various streets, in some instances with road oil at a cost of £lO a chain, apd in the others with bitumen. The council decided, on the recommendation of ils works committee, to deter consideration oj iurther bitumining of roads lor consideration at a special meeting at a later date.

The schedule submitted by the engineer was as follows;—

Roads to Bo Done with Road Oil. Alexandra crescent, from Caroline road to Karamu road; Charlotte crescent, irom Caroline road to Karamu road; Duchess crescent. from Caroline road to Karamu road; Eastbourne street, irom Warren street to Willow I’urk road; Davis street, from Hcrctaunga street to Plunket street; and Beresford street.

Hoads to Be Done with Bitumen: Fitzroy avenue, from lomoana road to Grays road; Grays road, from Fitzroy avenue to Duke, street; Avenue road, from Grays road to Tomoana road.
