DX RADIO ASSOCIATION

Hastings Branch Meeting

The fortnightly meeting of the Hastings branch of the New Zealand DX Radio Association was held at the residence of the secretary, a good num. her of members being present. Correspondence from headquarters was tabled and dealt with. it was decided to send a donation to the editors of “Tune In” towards the advertising fund. The branch decided to ask the editors not to publish remarks concerning blacklisted stations, as it is felt more harm than good will result

Several prizes were donated, one being for the first member to verify SMU Australia, and another being for the most progress made with the European loggings. The prize for the member first to verify 2BH, Broken Hill, was won by Mr. AV. Coates.

Winners in the best verification competition were:—Australian zone, junior, Mr. Turrich, 2AY; senior,, Mr. W. Coates, 2BH. American zone junior, Mr. P. Tritt, WCCO; senior, no entry. New Zealand junior only, Mr. R. Aber, hart, 4ZO; V.K, zone, senior only, Mr. W. Coates, VK2YW.

Several tips for readers are:—4Alß, Maryborough, on 1060 k.c., on Thursday, September 20, from 11.30 p.m. to 12.30 a.m.; WJAG, 1060 k.c., on Wednesday, September 19, from 5.30 to 7.30 p.m. A new Australian station should now be on the air, SMU, Murray Bridge, on a frequency of 1460 k.c., power of 100 watts.
