Mr. H. B. roppeiwell reported having lateiviewed tue Mayor, Jir. G. A. Jiaduison, who is maxing an appeal to uie iJUsmess Houses to ciose their premises on Inursd-y aiternoou. It was decided that the Napier and Hastings teams assemble at the Karamu roau gates not later than 1 o clock sharp, as the curtain-raiser will commeme at 1.10 p.m.
The competitions committee reported that ail grounds would be closed on September 15, arid both competitions were declared closed, with \\ annarama ana Pirates winners of the senior and junior competitions respectively. The following final arrangements were adopted m connection with the .Australians’ visit:—
Thursday, September 13, Australians arrive on 11.40 train from Palmerston North. Motor through to Napier (via Havelock) tor lunch at which Air. C. O. Alorse, the Alayor, will preside. Leave Napier at 1.5 p.m. and return to Hastings Hotel (via Taradale), thence to Nelson Park, Hastings, to play Hawke’s Bay at 2.30 p.m. sharp. After the match the team will attend a dinner to be presided over by the Alayor, Air. G. A. Maddison, at Hastings Hotel, at 4 p.m. sharp. The visitors leave by the 5.9 p.m. train for Auckland.
