BALL AT THE CHATEAU

CHILDREN’S FANCY DRESS.

The dance floor of the Chateau, Tongariro lounge presented a very brilliant scene on Thursday night when over 100 children took part in the Grand March. Many very striking and original costumes were worn which made judging difficult. This task was carried out by 150 guests, who judged by ballot. Midnight brought a very happy evening to a close. The prizes were presented by Mrs Erie Riddiford, of Wellington, and were awarded as follows: —Girls, “Minnie and Micky,” Christina Williams and Juna Herrick, Hawke s Bay; bovs, “Julius Caesar,” Barney Williams, Hawke’s Bay.
