DAIRY PRODUCTION
November Gradings (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, De«. 22. Dairy production in New Zealand this season has been maintained at an advance over the previous year, but the rate of increase is now declining. According to unofficial figures, 19,940 tons of butter were graded during November, an increase of 1018 tons, or •bout 5 per cent., on the total for November. 1932. • The gradings of butter for the four months of the current season ended November totalled 55,279 tons, compared with 47,092 tons for the corresponding period of 1932, an increase of 8187 tons, or about 17 per eent. Favourable conditions for dairying have been experienced this season, and the increase in output was fairly general during the period ended November 30. The season was particularly early, and for the first month. August, an increase of 40 per cent, in butter grad ings was recorded. However, this rate of increase has not been maintained. as is shown by the .November returns. The dry spell has had verv little effect on production in the Auckland province, according to reports received. However, other districts have suffered more severely, and it is possible the position may be reflected in the December returns. Tn the previous •cason production in the Waikato was retarded by dry weather in December, but the season was lengthened by late rains.
