NAPIER-HASTINGS BUSES
ALTERATIONS TO TIMETABLE In this issue the N.Z.R. Road Motor Services advertise particulars of alterations to timetable between Napier and Hastings, operating from Tuesday, April 18, 1933. It is desired to particularly draw attention to the fact that the departure and terminating point of the service in Napier will be opposite the Masonic Hotel, Marine Parade. The times of departure from Napier of the majority of the morning and evening workers' and business buses have been set back five minutes and upwards, with a view to ensuring sufficient time for patrons to join the various services, bu‘ their arrival time at destinations will not be affected by this later departure from Napier. The usual 5.35 p.m. bus from Hastings has been altered to leave at 5.40 a.m. as it has been found that the previous timing was too early for a number of patrons. It will be noted that the usual 10.30 p.m. services from Napier and Hastings have been retimed to leave at 10.40 p.m. This alteration has been made to suit the convenience of theatre patrons as it was found that 10.30 p.m. was too early. Further, the 10.40 p.m. bus from Napier will leave from Dalgety’s Corner, Dickens street. A number of services running via Whakatu have been deleted, owing to the very poor patronage accorded those buses. The services now provided are those which have previously been well patronised. Fares: Alterations have also been made to fares under a sectional basis. The route is now divided into six 3d sections which thereby does not affect the through single or return fare—viz, 1/6 and 2/-. The initial sections from cither terminal will be Napier-Wood-cock’s Crossing 3d, Hastings, Karamu Settlement road 3d. Napier residents within the area mentioned will now be able to visit town at a much reduced rate. Similarly, the 3d area in Hastings has been greatly extended. In regard to parcels traffic, a new office is being opened in Bryant’s Buildings at the corn. of Market and Tennyson streets, Napier. This should prove a convenience to clients as it is appreciated that the location of the present office is now quite unsuitable.
