WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
TE HAUKE GBOUP. The usual monthly meeting of the Te Hauke Women’s Institute was held on Thursday. Three new members were enrolled. A delegate to attend the annual meeting to be held in Napier was voted for and the motions discussed. Invitations were given to this year’s members to the birthday party of the oldest member. A ‘demonstration, loeeasins, was given by Miss Aplin e 1 several members cut out their , ierns and took the leather homo to iii h their moccasins before next mooting. During the social afternoon a modern comedy was discussed and the principal characters chosen. It was decided to give the principal parts to the Maori members and the smaller parts to the Europeans. Afternoon tea was dispensed by Mrs W. White, Mrs T. Hape and Mrs Ngata. The Institute song was sung and ths singing of the National Anthem brought a nappy afternoon to a close.
