SUTCLIFFE IN POVERTY BAY. A SPORTING HIT MISSES. By Telegraph—Press Association. Gisborne, March 17. Sutcliffe’s appearance in the annua] social club match, Poverty Bay v. Wairoa, attracted a large attendance to the Oval to-day. The visitor opened with H. Cave, the Poverty Bay skipper, and in 55 minutes averaged a run a minute. His attractive display ncluded six fours and six twos. After passing the half-century Sutcliffe went tor a sporting hit and was clean-bowled by Barton at 55.
