OTANE

ITEMS OF INTEREST. From Our Own Correspondent. On Thursday afternoon the. recently organised Te Kura cricket team played a game against Otane ex-cricketers. It was the first match Te Kura had played and also their first appearance on a concrete cricket pitch so their score of 66 runs to their opponent’s 85 was a very creditable performance. The umpires allowed a little latitude for the try-out of leg and other theories, and players and spectators alike thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon’s sport. March 18 will be eagerly looked forward to when Te Kura will try conclusions with the Otane cricket eleven. The box group of the W.E.A. will bold a meeting on Tuesday night when the course for the coming session will be arranged. This group had very gratifying attendances at all its meetings last year and it is hoped that members will show the same enthusiasm this year.
