TAKAPAU
ITEMS OF INTEREST. From Our Own Correspondent. A very successful and well-patron-ised dance was that held in the Takapau Public Hall by the Tennis Club on Wednesday evening. The tennis club has earned the reputation of holding many enjoyable evenings and the annual dance this year was no exception. Ihe floor was in excellent order and all arrangements for the evening had been carefully attended to. and with the good dancing music, supplied by Mr Bryce’s Waipukurau orchestra, the net result was an evening that well satisfied patrons, and rewarded those responsible, the dance committee and the hon. secretary, Mr H. Dick, in no small manner. As an indication that the summer and autumn seasons have past, the Takapau Golf Club is holding its annual meeting this evening, when arrangements will be made to re-open the course for the season. Mr Willia m Hobson, who has been j laid up for some time as the result of a motor accident, is getting about again and his many friends in the district will be pleased to hear of his convalescence.
