NEW ZEALAND'S GESTURE EXPRESSION OF LOYALTY London, Dec. 20. Mr G. H. Ferguson, Canadian High Commissioner, in a letter to “The Times,” emphasises that New Zealand’s offer to renew war debt payments to Britain is a remarkable expression of the spirit of loyalty and devotion inspiring the whole Empire. He adds: “Although Canada is facing her own financial burdens, I do not raise that point in a spirit of discrimination, but simply in order that the people generally may be able to view comprehensively their Imperial obligation, to which the splendid New Zealand gesture has again drawn attention.’’
