HAUMOANA

SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETING. (Own Correspondent.) Tho usual l monthly meeting of the Clive Grange School Committee was held on Alonday evening. Present: Mrs Oliver, Alessrs H. AlcKeesick (chairman), W. Anderson, A. E. Estaugh (secretary) and W. Cockerill (headmaster). A letter was received from the Country Schools’ Dental Association, requesting delegates to attend a meeting at I’aki I’aki. —Alessrs Estaugh, AlcKeesick and Anderson were appointed to represent the Clive Grange committee. The headmaster reported an increase in the daily attendance, the rollnumber being 113, and the average attendance for last term 89.8. It was decided to call tenders for the cleaning of the school for the ensuing year. Since the last meeting, it was reported, there has been two lights and a heater installed. During the winter mouths it was decided to supply the children with cocoa. The making of this has been greatly expedited by the installation of the electric ring. The headmaster also reported that a new basketball ground has been formed, which is a vast improvement on the old one. The next ‘‘soo’’ party and dance will be held in the school! on Friday, Juno 17, when good music and supper will be provided. Excellent prizes have also been secured for the cards. RIFLE-SHOOTING. Owing to unfavourable conditions the attendance at the Hauinoana Miniature Rille Club’s shoot was not so large as
