RUGBY FOOTBALL
HASTINGS SUB-UNION MEETS. The usual weekly meeting of the Hastings Rugby Sub-Union was held last evening, Air R. M. Hewitt presiding over a full attendance. It was decided, subject to tho permission of the donor, to make the Fraser Cup for goal-kicking a club trophy. A request from the Red Cross Society for the sub-union to stage a match in aid of tho society’s funds to help those in distress in Hastings was agreed upon subject to tho approval of the Hawke’s Bay Rugby Union. If the date is suitable to Te Ante the game will be played on June 30 at Nelson Park, Hastings, between Te Aute and Hawke’s Bay juniors. In addition a game will also be played between the To Aute seconds and the Hastings High School. The Waimarama Club were granted permission to play a midweek match at Porangahau. A suggestion that a junior advisory committee be set up has been submittted to the various clubs by their delegates, and it has now been decided that - this body bo formed, and each club is asked to submit the name of a delegate to represent them on the committee, whose main duty will be to look after the lower grade football and make such recommendations as they consider for the betterment of football in these grades.
