ENGLAND BATS BRIGHTLY WOOLLEY MAKES US. SOUTH AUSTRALIA IN POOH POSITION, (United Press Annoclatton—B» CableCopyright.) Adelaide, Nov. 11. Brilliant and entertaining cricket was seen on the resumption of England’s second innings against South Australia. The weather was dull, and there was a slight shower during the afternoon, but the wicket is wearing well. Duleepsinhji carried his score to 54 when he was stumped off Grimmett. Turnbull and Worthington went cheaply. Then Nichols and Woolley were associated in an attractive partnership producing 136. Woolley made 146 in 208 minutes. He hit 15 fours and one six, and played a brilliant and forceful innings. Nichols Was equally vigorous, but less polished. Earle hit Grimmett for six three times in one over. Nichols was in for 134 minutes and hit six fours.

England’s innings left South Australia the task of getting 326 for a victory. Grimmett and Wall, the test bowlers, finished with poor averages, both proving expensive. South Australia began disastrously. Hone and Harris, the opening batsmen, took the score to 28. Then Hone. Harris and Pritchard were dismissed without addition to the score. Whitfield and Lonergan lost theit wickets soon after. An appeal against the light was upheld fifteen minutes before stumps. The players said the wicket was not affected by the light rain.
