FURTHER SERIES OF LECTURES “PROBLEMS OF TO-DAY.” A further series of public lectures organised by the W.E.A. and Victoria University College will bo commenced in the Wesley Hall, Hastings, on Thursday (to-morrow). The lecturer will be Mr. W. E. Bate, L.L.M. It is Mr. Bate’s intention to deal with problems of presentday importance and though som» of his subjects, such ns the national debt, taxation, transport, etc., are of current political interest, an endeavour will bo made to deal with them from a scientific and non-political angle. Although the subjects are esesntially modern, they will receive historical treatment also, and Mr. Bate’s lectures should be both interesting and educational.
His course will comprise six lectures and will be entitled “Problems of To-day.” Tho subject for Thursday will be “How May We Solve Them?”
