The death occurred suddenly, at Christchurch. vesterday afternoon, of Mr. H. C. Guinness, acting-dis-trict traffic manager of the New Zoili-d Railways. He was on duty as ureal, when he suddenly had a he tic seizure at 2 o’clock. He was removed to his home but died two hours later. Only last week Mr. Guinness was appointed assistant to the superintendent of the North Island railwav division, and was to take up his new position shortly He was 48 years of age, Mr, T. M. Wilford ''Hutt) took his seat in the House of Representatives yesterday for the first time this session. Sir John Russell. English soil expert, accompanied by Mr. B. C. Aston chief Government chemist, and Dr H. E. Annett, arrived al Rotonin yesterday morning. They are to investigate soil and stock problems in the district. Hie Rev. F. A.
