MAHORA SCHOOL “SHOP”
A SATISFACTORY RETURN.
COMPETITION WINNERS.
The result of the Mahora Schoo] “shop” held on Saturday last for the purpose of raising funds for further improvement to the school grounds, proved a great success. To the committee and those ladies of the district, who worked so hard, the result was most gratifying.
Altogether, the sum of £9O odd was taken, and the committee extend their thanks to the headmaster (Mr. Chaplin), the school staff, parents and ladies’ social committee for their loyal and hard work in the interests of the school. The result of the various competitions were Cake (121bs. 10)ozs), for which three tied, F. Heasman; sponge cake competition, Mrs 1. Morley 1, Mrs. J. Horton 2; girls competition: Majorie Cressen; pearl necklet (502 pins), Mrs. J. Wise; coal, Mr. McGill; hot water bottle (334 matches), Mrs. Fredshurg; painted scarf (2yds. 9in.), Phyllis Burt; box of chocolates (21yds. <iin), Mr. Chaplin.
