PROGRESS OF BRITISH MISSION

[United Press Assn.—By CableCopyright.) (British Official Wireless.) (Received 23. 10.55 a.m.) Rugby, May 22. Negotiations between the King of Hejaz and Nejd and the British mission under Sir Gilbert Clayton, which begun at Jeddah a fortnight ago with the object of settling certain outlying matters between Nejd. Iraq, and Trans-Jordania have been suspended owing to the approach of the pilgrimage season, but will be resumed at the earliest opportunity. Satisfactory progress was made on several of the questions under discussion, and negotiations were marked by a mutual conciliatory desire to reach a settlement ensuring n-ood relations between the three countries concerned.
