U.S.A. SHIPPING
SALE OF PACIFIC LINES. NEGOTIATION RENEWAL ADVOCATED. (Received 17, 12.30 p.m.) Washington, Feb. 6. Mr. Groscup, giving evidence before the Senate Commerce Committee, alleged that the Shipping Board would cause a monopoly of the Pacific Coast shipping by its proposed manner of dealing with the sale of the Pacific lines. A resolution suggesting that the President re-open negotiations between the United States and members of the Ships of the World Court was introduced by Senator Gillett and laid on the table for future consideration. Senator Gillett stated he believes President Coolidge favours further negotiations.—(A. and N.Z.)
