The Girl Guide authorities are anxious that the branch of the move me nt in the district should be started on a, sound basis, and so it is hoped that a good number of representatives from each part of the area will be present to ensure equal revrecentn’ion on the District llead-

quarters Executive Committee the members of which will be elected at the close of the meeting. Guide companies at present running in this area cannot be registered, and therefore are not recognised until a local association is formed, so that up to the present the movement has been held back bv this fact.
