HASTINGS COUNCILS SCHEME

FIRST LIST OF WORKS. The Hastings Works Committee recommended to last night’s meeting of the Council that the first list 01 works to be carried out under the unemployment scheme be as follows: “A” SCHEDULE. Rate of Pay: It is recommended that the men employed on the work provided under the unemployment scheme be paid on the hour basisi at the rate of l/7f per hour. The'Mayor said that if the schedules were adopted it would serve a length of 45 miles of footpaths and no further expenditure would be required for a considerable time. The recommendations were adopted.
