NAPIER HIGH SCHOOLS.
BOARD OF GOVERNORS MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Napier High School Board was held last night. Present: Messrs P. Ashcroft (chairmanK-H. Hill. F K. de Castro. R. C. Wright. A. H. Hobson. J. Clark Thomson. C. D. Wilson, J. P. Williamson. J 1. Cato and Dr. T C. Moore. Reference was made to the splendid wcrk done during the flood by the domestic staff teachers, and others who gave their assistance. It was decided to send them letters of appreciation of their services
The board also expressed its appreciation tn Mr. W A Armour for the way ,he had carried nut his responsibilities during the flood and as be was somewhat indisposed from his arduous work it was agreed to grant him two weeks’ leave on r«ill pay. The Department notified the authorisation of the sale for remov.il of portions of the old Bovs’ High School buildings, the profits from the sale to hr regarded as the Department’s asset. PRINCIPALS’ REPORTS. The principal of the Girls’ High School (Miss D. M. Arthur) reported that the roll number was 318, 258 in the senior school and 60 in the junior. There had been a good deal of sickness among the day pupils, probahlv owing to the trying weather conditions. The beadmaster of the Bovs’ Schoo] f Mr. W. A. Armour) reported the roll number to be 307, there being 72 boarders. The attendance during the period had been most satisfactory. The report dealt at length with the results of the recent flood
