H.B. PERMANENT BUILDING SOCIETY.

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of members of the Hawke’s Bay Permanent Building and investment Society was held yes terday, when Mr P. Ashcroft presided Tn moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, which have already been published, the chairman con gratulatetf the society on a good year’s working. The fixed capital had been brought up Io £2O, 00p and for a time the issue of such shares would ,be dis continued, as it had given tho society the stability it required. The position was most satisfactory and most sound. The capital investment shares were bringing in the society a good return and they were very proud of the invest ment.

The report and balance-sheet wenadopted.

Messrs H. Bull and C. D. Wilson were rc-electcd auditors.

The three retiring members of tli* 1 committee, Messrs R. Holt, C. Douglas and J. P. Williams were re-elected.

Memembers expressed their satisfac tion with the work of the secretary (Mr G. H. Bickerstaff) and the auditors-
