WEDDING.
AVOON—OVEREND. A very pretty wedding was solemnised in St. Columba’s Presbyterian ’ huych. Havelock North, yesterday afternoon, by tho Rev. R. Waugh, the contracting parties being Air. James L'slie AVoon. eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Woon, Hastings road, and Miss Rita May Ovcrend, daughter of Mr. and Airs R. Slade, Lower Te Mata road. The bride, who entered the church on th.e arm of her father, looked charming in white marocain, trimmed with pearls and silver lace, and wearing a white veil of orange blossoms and carrying a beautiful bouquet of white lilies and maidenhair fern. She was attended bv Miss Irene Curry, as eliiof bridesmaid, in pink marocain and pink veil, and carrying a bouquet of pink sweetpeas and gynsophylla. and Miss Dorothy Slade, and Aliss Galdys Taylor, the former in blue marocain and blue band around head and carrying a bouquet of h'.ue sweetpeas and maidenhair fern, and the latter in heliotrope marocain. with head band to match, and carrying a bouquet of mauve sweetpeas and maidenhair tern, all three bouquets being the gift of Air. Darcy Epplett. Airs. Hill presided at the organ and there was a large number present at tlie church, which was very prettily decorated by girl friends of the luide. The wedding breakfast was held at the home of the bride’s parents* where uie guests toasted the health of the newly-married pair wishing them every good wish in their new life. The presents wore numerous and handsome, showing the esteem in which the young couple are held. The honeymoon is being spent in Auckland and Rotorua.
