FleweTleii King who acted ns organiser for the New Zealand Alliance in the Nelson district during the recent campaign, was entertained by his fellow workers last week prior to his departure for Hawke’s Bay. Tlie speakers paid a high tribute to Mr. King’s services to tho prohibition movement during his residence in Nelson. Air. King has taken up a position at Greenmeadows.

Aliss Barnett, infant mistress at tho Napier Central School, who is retiring on superannuation, was the recipient of throe presentations at Friday’s prize-giving ceremony. Mr. J. Clark Thomson, on behalf of the committee, presented Miss Barnett with a suitablv engraved solid leather blouse case, and on behalf of the teachers. Air. J. Hislop (headmaster) handed her a handsome travelling rug. Earlier in tho day the pupils presented Aliss Barnett with a beautiful handbag and handkerchiefs. Eulogistic references wore made to Aliss Barnett’s services, and the hope was expressed that she would have many years of enjoyment in her retirement.
