MOTOR LAUNCH FIRE.

HEAVY LOSS TO OWNERS. Auckland, Jan. 8. x The pleasure launch Marama, valued at £BOO, caught fire yesterday while the crew were ashore on Rangitoto. Two of the crew put out to the launch, but when they reached her they found that the interior was a furnace. It was impossible to get below. An attempt was made to tow the vessel into shallow water, but the benzine tank exploded and the launch disappeared. The insurance policy on the craft expired last month.
