The second race of the season was held on Saturday last from Wellington, when 75 birds competed. The start was made in a head wind and bad weather. Results: —Dr. Wilson’s blue cock Spec, 4hr. 23min. 16sec., 1; W. Alexander’s B.C. cock 27, 4.24. J. E. Sands’ red hen Drop In, 4.27.0, 3. Also flew: A. Hixon’s Tulip IL, 4.30.21; V. Wall’s Ambitious, 4.31.24; A. Brittin’s Fidelity, 4.32.7; J. Brunton’s Helen Rufus. 4.33.56; L. Orchard’s B.C. cock 125, 4.39.56. The first prize trophy presented by Thos. Smith, Esq., value £5 5/-, the second prize cash. The pool was won by A. Hixon’s Tulip 11. The race next Saturday is from Blenheim
